The first key to big profits as an affiliate marketer is to capture the subscriber first and build your list.

Most affiliate marketers just promote their affiliate link. But once you have sent traffic on their way to the publishers website, that traffic is gone.

Forever!

If all you do is send traffic to your affiliate promotion, you may or may not get the sale, and that is it.

You don't have an opportunity to follow up and follow through.

Building a list of subscribers can solve this problem, and give you almost endless opportunities to sell again and again.

Why?

The average salesletter conversion in internet marketing is about 2%. That means 98% of the traffic you send to the salesletter is gone forever.

In another words, for every 100 people that you get to actually send to the publisher via your affiliate link, only 2 people buy. That sounds pretty good if your affiliate commission was $50. Two people buy so you make $100, right?

Not so fast. Let's look at the bigger picture.

So let's do the math:

At 1,000 visitors, 100 click the link, resulting in 2 sales. That is a conversion rate of 0.2%. If you spent $100, then it cost you $50 per buyer. If your commission check is less than $50, you just just lost money.

Bottom line, if you spend $100 getting 1,000 visitors to your website to just look at your affiliate link, you aren't making any money!

Not good.

Now let's build a subscriber list, and see what the difference that makes.

Same scenario. You spend $100 and get 1,000 visitors to your website.

But now, instead of 100 people just clicking on your promotion link, you first capture the contact information of your website visitors before redirecting them to the publishers website?

And still only 2 buy. You made $100. But wait, there's more!

Now you have the contact information of 100 people. And now you can follow up with the other 98 people with emails embedded with your affiliate link.

And say for example that in the following month 8 people bought the product through your affiliate promotion link in an email that you sent to your subscriber list.

How much did you make so far?

2 immediate purchases X $50 affiliate commission = $100
8 purchases from emails X $50 affiliate commission = $400
Total affiliate commissions made from 1,000 visitors=$500

Now we are making money!

And we aren't done yet.

We can continue to cultivate a relationship with the people on your list. And send them other similar offers.

There are basically two general kinds of squeeze pages - text and video.

Although creating, designing, and using squeeze pages is not hard, it can be frustrating to implement on a website.
